"Empowering students to navigate a complex world with confidence and character."
Building on the foundations laid in primary school, our secondary curriculum focuses on developing the habits, skills, and attributes of holistic learners. We prepare students to become responsible global citizens who can contribute meaningfully to society.
As in all SIS schools, ASIS SIS secondary school will have an accredited Cambridge International programme that leads towards an accredited International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), a high school qualification recognized by colleges and universities around the world. At ASIS, we build on the foundations of Maths, Information Technology, Science and English. We continue to encourage our learners to read a wide variety of literary genres. We focus on regional languages and global perspectives to ensure they have the skills and dispositions to become good global citizens. Inter-disciplinary projects deepen awareness and utilisation of connections between knowledge areas and our learners participate actively in sports, music, drama and many other creative arts programs.
School activities and learner-teacher conversations look to build on the skills and dispositions needed for the 21st century through our PACE initiative: Perseverance, Analytical Thinking, Collaboration/Communication, and Entrepreneurism. At ASIS, learning is all about inspiring the learner. We just don't teach here. Instead we mentor, stimulate, provoke and engage.
As each child learns differently, ASIS subscribes to the holistic assessment of each child to build on the desire to learn. It includes informal avenues like continuous monitoring in class (observations), informal interactions, parent participation and more formal avenues like score-tracking, semestral assessments, and international benchmarking.
For learners who are still working towards the expectations of the subject, ASIS has an Academic Support Program, where the teachers will give individual support and attention to the learner outside of curriculum time.
We encourage parents to provide feedback on our learners' experiences and emotions. We then work with parents to enhance and reinforce their learning to ensure our children are always having fun learning and developing both in school and at home.
The areas of knowledge or disciplines include:
The Cambridge IGCSE subjects grouped into five curriculum areas:
Learners will leave the school grounds for different hands-on educational experiences, including working with local communities.
Here languages become alive with learner-led activities where they have opportunity to show their inventions and projects.
Learners are able to choose a host of after-school activities of their interest.
Opportunities to participate in activities such as Model United Nations conferences.
Provides support for learners in their decision making and application process for universities or colleges around the world.
