OTHER HIGHLIGHTS OF THE ASIS PRESCHOOL PROGRAM

ASIS uses as its core, the Nurturing Early Learners (NEL) Framework. The NEL Framework developed by local and international researchers and is extensively used by the Singapore Ministry of Education for its Pre-schools.

Singapore students are constantly amongst the best in the world. In the Programme of International Student Assessment (Pisa) tests conducted by OECD (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development), Singapore almost always tops the list.

"Our inquiry-based program focuses on collaborating with young minds to be curious, think critically and creatively, solve problems and develop a passion and responsibility for their learning"

OUR CORE VALUES

The ASIS Pre-school sees the individual child as the heart and centre of all our activities. Our low learner-to-teacher ratio allows our learners to receive individualized attention. We understand that every aspect of the child's learning process must be recognized and nurtured.

OUR HOLISTIC CURRICULUM FOCUSES ON

  • Collaboration
  • Holistic Education
  • Integrated Learning
  • Language Rich Environment
  • Diversity

Collaboration

We are a network of schools. ASIS educators will collaborate with our partner schools regularly to share experiences and ideas, as well as attend our professional development sessions.

Holistic Education

We believe passionately in a holistic approach. Our inquiry-based program focuses on working with young minds to be curious, think critically and creatively, solve problems and develop a passion and responsibility for their own learning and development as learners.

Integrated Learning

ASIS Pre-schoolers do not learn through individual subjects. Our learners learn to draw knowledge and experience from one area of learning to another. They are encouraged to ask questions all the time and to link ideas, experiences, and thoughts in their learning journey.

Language-Rich Environment

We immerse our young learners in a language-rich, multi-lingual environment. Our children will be multi-lingual.

Diversity

Our children are exposed to different local and international cultures and therefore we emphasize on coaching learners in defining and adopting good morals, values and respect.

ACADEMIC SUPPORT PROGRAM

For learners who are still working towards the expectations of the subject, ASIS has an Academic Support Program, where the subject teacher will give individual support and attention to the learner outside of curriculum time. This allows them even greater personalized attention.

PARENTS AND SCHOOLS AS PARTNERS

We encourage parents to provide feedback on our learner's experiences and emotions. We then work with parents to enhance and reinforce their learning to ensure our children are always having fun learning both in school and at home. If you are a parent and would like to be more involved in the learning community, please contact the Principal directly:asis@sisschools.org

This leads to the early development of independent learners.
  • Inter-Disciplinary Project (IDP) – Learners participate in various project-based learning activities that provide an opportunity for them to learn, to connect, synthesise, and apply their learning. At ASIS students will have the opportunity to learn alongside students for other SIS schools in different cities and countries for a truly international experience.

BUILDING GLOBAL CITIZENS

"Empowering students to navigate a complex world with confidence and character."

Building on the foundations laid in primary school, our secondary curriculum focuses on developing the habits, skills, and attributes of holistic learners. We prepare students to become responsible global citizens who can contribute meaningfully to society.

As in all SIS schools, ASIS SIS secondary school will have an accredited Cambridge International programme that leads towards an accredited International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IBDP), a high school qualification recognized by colleges and universities around the world. At ASIS, we build on the foundations of Maths, Information Technology, Science and English. We continue to encourage our learners to read a wide variety of literary genres. We focus on regional languages and global perspectives to ensure they have the skills and dispositions to become good global citizens. Inter-disciplinary projects deepen awareness and utilisation of connections between knowledge areas and our learners participate actively in sports, music, drama and many other creative arts programs.

School activities and learner-teacher conversations look to build on the skills and dispositions needed for the 21st century through our PACE initiative: Perseverance, Analytical Thinking, Collaboration/Communication, and Entrepreneurism. At ASIS, learning is all about inspiring the learner. We just don't teach here. Instead we mentor, stimulate, provoke and engage.
